Welcome to On Track Hypno – a service for people in and around Alfreton
Hypnotherapy is widely recognised as an effective way of treating many psychological, emotional, and physical disorders.
Have you “given up"? - try again! Have you “tried everything"? – then try this! Have you “seen everyone"? - see me!
For 10 years I have practised as a psychotherapist, working with people from all walks of life and backgrounds. I believe we have all that we need inside us to overcome our problems. I have never given up on anyone who truly desired to make changes, sticking with them through thick and thin.

There are many changes that seem less readily made, and can benefit from a different approach. I have always respected the power of the subconscious mind, and recognise that it could help facilitate change at the deepest level if used professionally.
More recently I have trained as a clinical hypnotherapist, so that I can offer a wider range of treatments to those who need help. Hypnotherapy is particularly recommended to help people stop smoking and to overcome phobias, to treat anxiety and stress, and to boost self-esteem.
What is Hypnotherapy?
“Doctor, what's the alternative?” Dr. Hilary Jones
Hypnotherapy is widely recognised as an effective way of treating many psychological, emotional, and physical disorders. It is included in the NHS’s NICE guidelines for the management of IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome), and can be used more generally to control pain in surgery and dentistry. It can be used to help people stop smoking, overcome phobias, and treat insomnia; it can promote better relaxation and boost self-confidence.
Contrary to common misconceptions hypnosis is not being put to sleep but involves a person experiencing a very deep state of relaxation often referred to as 'trance'. Trance does not mean that you are not in control, but rather that you are in an enhanced state of awareness, enabling you to concentrate entirely on the sound of your hypnotherapist's voice.
Whilst in trance the conscious mind is suppressed and the subconscious becomes more dominant. Since the subconscious is seated deeper, and is a more instinctive force than the conscious, this enables the hypnotherapist to make positive suggestions directly to your subconscious, related to the changes you wish to make in your life.
What I Do
When you come to my consulting room – I am close to Alfreton, within easy reach of Derby, Chesterfield and Nottingham - it is my responsibility to offer a deep, empathic understanding of you and the changes you wish to make, and to facilitate the trance-like state. Therapy can only be effective when a respectful, collaborative relationship is established.
